Stella Nicolaisen

Biography
After studying for an MA in Fashion from Central St Martins, Danish interior stylist Stella Nicolaisen specialised in woven fabrics for fashion; and fabric design is the starting point for much of Stella's inspiration. It allows her to play with color, texture and composition, and to unfold an idea from a two-dimensional plane to a three-dimensional space. She also finds inspiration in everyday life - from how a person on the street is dressed to the look of a café table after the customers have left. She looks for the personal in her choice of props, through customized or found objects; the challenge for her is to find in every picture just that detail which breathes life and personality into the still life. She finds creative energy in constant research and the ever-changing surroundings of London, where she now lives and works.
